King Sturge acts for Yule Catto in Huddersfield
On behalf of Yule Catto & Co plc, the Leeds Office Industrial team has sold two prominent development sites totalling 5.9 acres fronting the A61 Leeds Road in Huddersfield.
Instructed as joint sale agents with Knight Frank, the sale process included the acquisition of long leasehold interests from Kirklees Metropolitan District Council and the renegotiation of restrictive covenants in favour of The Church Commissioners on a listed former church which forms part of the site.
The site was formerly a chemical production facility for subsidiary company, James Robinson Limited, who had been manufacturing specialty dyes on the site since 1840. The freehold interest in the site has been acquired by Leeds-based developer, GMI, for £2.7 million.
The site is allocated in the Kirklees Development Plan for employment purposes and will be developed for a range of office, roadside and leisure uses. GMI has retained King Sturge as joint letting agents.
