DTZ appointed to carry out Stirling city centre 'Health Check'
The vitality of Stirling will come under the microscope after property consultant DTZ was appointed to carry out a "health check" of the city centre.
DTZ Edinburgh-based Associate Director Fionna Kell and her team will conduct the review over the next three months and report its findings to Stirling Council at the end of March.
Fionna said: "Health checks provide a valuable benchmark against which to measure the effect of future changes in economic activity on a City Centre. This review of Stirling's offering will provide a picture of how well services are performing in the city centre."
Andy Kennedy, Stirling City Centre manager and Chair of the Association of Town Centre Management in Scotland, said: "Scotland's towns and cities have lacked behind other areas in the UK in using health checks to inform town/city centre strategies and action plans.
"In Stirling, we are delighted to be working with DTZ as one of the first to establish a robust health check process as an integral part of the shaping of Stirling's future."
DTZ's Edinburgh office has a strong track record of carrying out town or city centre "health checks" and has carried out annual reviews of the vitality and vitality of Belfast's City Centre for the past six years.
