Shanks move to J10 M8 in Scotland
Shanks, one of Europe's largest recycling companies, advised by Gerald Eve, has taken a 10 year lease over 3 acres of land and 5,000 sq ft of offices at the J10 M8, Easter Queenslie scheme in Scotland.
The deal on United Wholesale (Scotland) site will complement Shank's Blochairn facility and will be used for the storage of Shanks vehicle fleet along with administrative offices.
Glasgow-based surveyor Jennifer Addis of Gerald Eve said: "This acquisition was imperative in allowing Shanks to continue with its on-going plans to redevelop their Blochairn site to provide additional recycling facilities.
"Given their strict requirements, J10 M8 offers the right mix of office, storage space for vehicles and is ideally located within a short driving distance from their existing premises."
Gerald Eve has also saved Shanks £237,000 in empty rates at their decommissioned Rechem incineration plant near Pontypool after reviewing a significant bill received following the introduction of empty rates legislation in April 2008.
Colliers CRE and Jones Lang LaSalle are the agents for J10 M8.
