Former picture house in Bradford up for grabs.
Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) has been appointed to market The Marlboro, a former cinema on Carlisle Road in Bradford.
The striking 8,551 sq ft building is available freehold and may suit a variety of uses, subject to obtaining the necessary planning consents. A consent had previously been approved to extend the mezzanine floor which would have extended the useable floor space by approximately 4,000 sq ft.
Graeme Walker, property agent from LSH's Leeds office, says: "This is quite a unique opportunity. The site has been subject to controversy in the past, and has also been rebuilt following a fire. The property has been used as a cinema in the past and is now used as a wedding and function hall and is a very lucrative operation."
"It is unlikely that it will reopen as a cinema, especially with the popularity of new multiplex cinemas. But, its high profile roadside location means that a steady income is also receivable from an advertising hoarding."
The building consists of two storeys incorporating the main function hall with additional mezzanine level, service kitchen, storage rooms and offices.
Offers are invited in excess of £700,000 for the freehold interest and alternative uses can be considered subject to obtaining the necessary planning consents.
