Wilkinson let new store at the Merrion Centre in Leeds
Town Centre Securities, advised by Savills, has let 34-38 Woodhouse Lane at the Merrion Centre in Leeds to Wilkinson Hardware Stores.
Wilkinson, who is already trading from a 34,065 sq ft (3,164 sq m) store in Leeds City Centre, will adopt a new smaller store concept totalling 6,053 (346 sq m) at the Merrion Centre. The store aims to attract a wider range of consumers and was secured on a new 15-year lease at an annual rent of £135,000.
Helen Beckett at Town Centre Securities, comments: "Following the lettings to Costa Coffee, Sainsbury's and Nevisport at the Merrion Centre, we are delighted to welcome Wilkinson to the scheme. Woodhouse Lane has undergone extensive redevelopment over the last year and has now established itself as a prominent retail location with a significant footfall."
Steve Henderson, associate director at Savills, adds: "We are very pleased to have agreed terms with Wilkinson for its new trial concept in Leeds, which is due to open in May 2008. This letting leaves one remaining unit within this first phase of the redevelopment proposals at the Merrion Centre for which we have already received significant interest from national and regional retailers."
Town Centre Securities was represented by Savills and Harmer Ray Hoffbrand. Wilkinson Hardware was represented by Central Retail.
