Thomas and Adamson in new work in Scotland's North East
New appointments in the North East of Scotland are continuing for, international construction and property consultants, Thomas and Adamson, bringing the total value of projects in the area to over £350M.
Appointments include a £30m residential scheme by Scotia Developments at Rubislaw Quarry, Aberdeen. Bucking the current trend in the residential market, the developers are confident that the 108 unit high quality apartment block with two levels of subterranean car parking, adjacent to the headquarters of a number of major players in the oil industry, will be a success. Other Aberdeen projects include a new £12 million medical education building for the University of Aberdeen and NHS Grampian and the new £250m retail and leisure development Union Square by Hammerson plc, one of the largest of its kind in Scotland. Once complete in Autumn 2009, the development will provide new retail space suitable for large flagship stores, a 10 screen multiplex cinema, 12 restaurants, a new Jury's hotel as well as the redevelopment of both Aberdeen's rail and bus station. T&A; is also working on the new Malmaison Hotel on the historic Queens Road, due to open in Autumn 2008 the new hotel is the redevelopment and extension of the former Queens Hotel.
Lower Dens, Dundee is a further new appointment in the North East for T&A;, involving the redevelopment of five listed buildings on the site of the former Lower Dens Mill for the Unicorn Property Group (UPG), where T&A; are providing Cost Management & CDMC Consultancy Services on a 111 unit residential scheme. Multi-disciplinary professional services are also being provided for UPG on their residential developments at Panmure Slip and the Clock Tower at City Quay Dundee.
