Aberdeen's Knight Property Group conclude deal with Bristow Helicopters
Aberdeen-based commercial property developer Knight Property Group have concluded a major deal with one of the world's largest providers of helicopter services Bristow Helicopters Limited.
The first civil helicopter company to work in the oil and gas industry, the Bristow Group Inc is a global organisation with operations all over the world. Through its brand names Air Logistics and Bristow Helicopters Ltd, it provides helicopter transportation, maintenance, search and rescue, and related services to the offshore oil and gas industry as well as other business sectors.
Bristow Helicopters Limited have signed a lease for a bespoke, pre-let development at Knight Property Group's Kirkhill Commercial Park. This accommodation - which is to become their UK headquarters - includes 20,225 sq ft of high specification offices and 11,231 sq ft of simulator accommodation (which will house four state-of-the-art training simulators). Construction is due to start in October 2008 with occupation in May 2009.
Kirkhill Commercial Park is a 14 acre site located in commercial hub Dyce, Aberdeen. Adjacent to Aberdeen Airport, this site benefits from excellent transport links to the city and north east area. Occupiers in close vicinity to the site include international industry giants BP, Wood Group, Weatherford, Baker Hughes, Kvaerner and Halliburton to note just a few.
Howard Crawshaw, Director for Knight Property Group, said: "This is a specialist commission for Knight Property Group and we are thrilled to be working with industry-leader Bristow on the delivery of this impressive project. This is testament to the diversity of our property portfolio and an example of the crucial role that commercial property developers can play in helping businesses to maximise company expansion in line with their own unique spatial requirements. Bristow's high-specification build will be a striking addition to this commercial park and anchors the gateway site to the entire development, which has attracted high levels of interest from a number of businesses."
"We are currently in discussion with prospective clients for the remaining two sites at Kirkhill Commercial Park but - with excellent transport links and centrality to a major commercial neighborhood - we anticipate full occupancy in coming months."
John Cloggie, Director of European Operations for Bristow Helicopters in Aberdeen, said: "This is a new era for Bristow and again shows our commitment to the North Sea. We are delighted to be delivering a first-class training facility with simulators to support our fleet. We are excited by the prospect of moving into our new headquarters and we will continue to invest to improve our product and service."
The complete fit-out is being undertaken by Knight Property Group. The joint letting agent was Graham + Sibbald and F G Burnett.
