Bell Developments secures double planning consents

Glasgow-based developer Bell Developments (Scotland) Limited has secured planning consent for two commercial property schemes to the east of Glasgow city centre.

Bell, in conjunction with its joint venture partner BRG Limited, has been awarded planning consent for an industrial/trade counter scheme, totalling 21,336 sq ft, at South Caldeen Road, Coatbridge. Bell has also secured planning consent for a modern office scheme of 23,500 sq ft at Tannochside Drive, Uddingston.

The industrial scheme is located on a 1.3-acre site within the popular Calder Street Industrial Estate and provides a substantial shared yard and dedicated parking for 23 cars. Potential exists for a single occupier to take the whole site, and quoting terms are £90 per sq ft freehold and £6.50 per sq ft leasehold.

The office scheme lies within Tannochside Business Park and will provide five high-specification detached pavilions of 4,700 sq ft each. They are available freehold or leasehold at £180 per sq ft and £14.50 per sq ft respectively, and are capable of sub-division from 1,000 sq ft upwards to suit specific occupier requirements.

Gerald Eve's Glasgow office is marketing both schemes.

Gerald Eve surveyor Jennifer Addis comments: "With scarce availability in the Coatbridge area, we've already attracted keen interest in the industrial units. Supply is more plentiful at Tannochside but there are fewer opportunities for occupiers to buy their own self-contained office buildings, which is likely to prove an attractive draw."
